This silver necklace features a tiny flock of handmade birds. It was inspired by the starlings that congregate in swirling flocks near my workshop in the winter months.

The pendant is made from sterling silver which has been set with mirrored perspex which has been engraved with an intricate cloud pattern.

I handmake each tiny silver bird and secure them through the perspex so that they look like they are flying across the sky.

I have oxidised (darkened) the silver to better resemble the tone of the starling’s feathers. All the silver elements have been polished so that the oxidation has a gleaming, polished finish.

There are a number of variations that you can choose from:

• choose the length of your chain. The chain shown in the images is the 16-inch option

• choose the colour of the perspex set in the 25mm diameter sterling silver pendant - sky blue or gold toned

• choose which side you would like your flock of starlings to fly - left or right

Every piece is made by hand so the exact position and size of the birds made for your piece may differ in small details from the ones shown in the pictures.
