Silver hydrangea flower statement necklace

£570.00

This sterling silver hydrangea flower necklace is the statement piece from my newest collection. Each flower is hand-fabricated using silver imprinted with dried hydrangea petals to create a unique arrangement. No two pendants will be exactly the same. The details of your pendant will differ slightly from the one featured in these photographs.

This piece is made to order and will be shipped 3-4 weeks after your order has been placed. This is to allow time for the pendant and chain to be made. After this, the piece will be sent to be hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office. Once it arrives back in my studio I will give it a final polish before sending it out to you.

The pendant is supported on a handmade sterling silver fixed chain/neck wire which is approx 42cm in length. This has been textured with grooves to represent the stems of the hydrangea plant.

Please contact me if you would like a different length or would like to change the neck wire for a silver chain.

The outer wall of the ‘garden’ is formed by wrapping the silver around a pebble; into this, the silver hydrangea blooms are arranged and soldered in place. Hydrangea petals look fragile but are amazingly strong. The petals are selected after the flowers have dried out and survived all the weather that autumn and winter can throw at them. These petals imprint into heat-treated silver in an incredibly detailed way. The texture is beautiful and I am still surprised at how something seemingly so fragile can imprint so cleanly into metal.

The back surface of the pendant is imprinted with a dried leaf skeleton; a secret texture that is only seen by the owner when they take off the necklace.
