Found and Made 16,860 km apart - Part 2

You know when something just isn't right.  The longer you look at it the more you know.  It just isn't finished.  You want it to be done.  You know that the extra time spent on it will put the price up.  You don't want to do this - but something inside tells you that you just need to go the extra mile.

Well, this is what happened with the pendant that I finished earlier in the week.  Finished!  Or so I thought.  All the ready made chains that I had just would NOT do for this piece.  I tried but they all looked wrong; they were out of proportion and lacking in detail and weight.  So I HAD to make a handmade chain.

Certain pieces demand certain things.  Some pieces are quiet and compliant.  Others have a 'voice'. This one had a voice and a half!  I listened and then I got to work - many hours later I had a chain specifically tailored for this unique piece.

Elsewhere today I was momentarily distracted by the sea urchins on my window cill.  They are a rare find on the local beaches where I roam, so when I do find them I tend to scrutinise them somewhat!

Did you know that their spines have different colours on the ends?  No, well neither did I.

Honestly, how is it nearly Friday already?  I could swear someone fast forwarded this week.  A plus tard mes amis.
