The Sketchbook Project 2011 - the second installment

I sent my sketch book off for The Sketchbook Project 2011 to Art House Co-op in Brooklyn, New York in January with some trepidation (see here).  When I received an email on the 14th of February telling me the book had arrived safely a whole new story began to take shape!  I decided to start a new sketchbook.

The Sketchbook Project 2011, the sequel by Cari-Jane Hakes
Here is the first double spread.  If your interested to see the original sketchbook (which is now on tour round the USA as of yesterday) all 80 pages have been uploaded here (use the blue arrow which is on the far right hand side of the screen to 'flick' through the sketchbook on the Art House Co-op site).

Pardon the little mix up of pages at the beginning and around pages 56 and 57.  I am unable to edit the pages at the moment on this site - as soon as I can I will re-arrange and delate the duplicate pages.

I must say, there are a fair few pages I would have loved to re-do but there really wasn't the time.  It took a while to find my sketching 'voice' and by the time I hit the halfway point I was a bit more confident with how the girl and her stuffed newt 'Cedric' should look.  I'm excited to see where she will go in the second book.
